Now that we have learned a bit more about marketing, social media, and everything to do with creating a successful campaign, its time to talk about what I have done as a marketer. To begin, take a look at the link below, for a quick recap of me as a marketer.
I started off my marketing career, by pursuing a Bachelor of Digital Marketing at Utah valley University. I started off as an International Business major, however due to changes in curriculum, I ended up in the digital marketing department instead. I loved the program, due to the fantastic professors, and the ability to see the results and process in real life. This love of digital marketing led me to join two separate professional development groups while in college, The Marketing Association at UVU, and the UVULife Instagram page for prospective students. These two groups taught me as much about marketing as any class I had taken up to that point. It is one thing to simply learn about marketing in a classroom, or through a simulation, but when your marketing goes out into the world, and is reacted to by actual, nonbiased people, that is another thing entirely.
I worked with both of those groups for about two years, during which time I got my first paid marketing jobs. The first marketing job I was able to secure was a social media internship at a film company called Crazy Ant Media. This job brought me into the world of not only mental health work, but also of working with people, just to do good in the world, rather than any financial motivation. This job was one of my favorites, as my team was very easy to work with, and posting cross platforms gave me a lot of knowledge about how different analytics platforms work, and how I could improve my marketing even further.

Finally, I had the opportunity to do digital marketing for a company called Innovation Academy, and I work at an agency called Green House Marketing. Both of these companies place a considerable emphasis on getting you out of your comfort zone and pushing you to be a better marketer. While I may have felt I had a solid understanding of what marketing could be, every single job I get shows me there is more to marketing than one person could hope to do all of before they retire. Green House marketing especially was focused on client relations, gaining new clients, and doing more individual work for those clients. Those bonds and relationships I gained with those people there, allowed me to further my portfolio and my professional career in ways that few other jobs could have.
In conclusion, my marketing career has had many ups and downs, and I have had the opportunity to work with a lot of different clients and coworkers. With every job I have been able to work at, my knowledge and my appetite for more has increased. I love my marketing jobs, and would not have it any other way.
Now that I have introduced myself, I want to learn more about you! Show off your work, or tell us your life story in the comments below!
